Changes to NCWRC Trout Stocking Announcements – Volunteer Sign-Up Required
The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) has updated its trout stocking announcement process for 2025. Instead of publicly sharing exact stocking dates for Delayed Harvest rivers, they will now provide only a general timeframe for when each river will be stocked.
To support this new strategy, our Trout Unlimited chapter is adjusting how we coordinate stocking volunteers. NCWRC will provide us with the exact dates for stocking North Mills River and Spring Creek this spring, but instead of publicly announcing them, we are asking interested volunteers to sign up in advance.
How to Volunteer
- Fill out the form below with your name, email, phone number, and the stocking locations you’d like to help with.
- Watch for an email from us with the exact date, time, and meeting location.
- Keep the information confidential to help prevent poaching and unnecessary pressure on newly stocked waters.
This approach aligns with NCWRC’s efforts to better manage stocking days while ensuring we have the help needed to get fish in the water.
